The Unknown Creators

It has been quite some time since I have posted anything. My life has been quite hectic…mentally more than anything. Either way, I was on Facebook the other day and came across a page with some art work. Most of it was parody art with pictures you see all the time, simply with the wording changed, but some of the pieces were striking.

Artist Highlight: Shawn Huber

One of the goals I had in mind while creating this blog is to showcase artwork of different mediums from artists that I discover online. There are so many talented artists in this world who deserve recognition. Just as well, I like to provide any possible inspiration for fellow artists because every artist gets “artist’s block” sometimes. A few websites in which I frequent to discover these artists is DeviantART, Flickr, and Red Bubble just to list a few. For my first artist highlight, I chose a photographer with whom I’ve been in contact with through e-mail.
Shawn Huber is a photographer from York, Pennsylvania. His work is not of any specific genre. Shawn does a variety of work, but through discussion, he has stated that fine art or home decor photography is what he likes best. So without further ado, here are a few photographs from Shawn Huber’s collection. (more…)

Pills, Weed, and Alcohol

One moment in my life. It actually defined most of my life, although I didn’t realize it until the statement was made by myself. I was at a party with an old friend. I was inebriated to say the least. He asked me what I was on. My answer was a simple, “pills weed and alcohol.” My friend was a musician..proficient in guitar playing, and he proceeded to make up a song on the spot with those words. To this day, I still perform dangerous chemical cocktails that you read about in the newspapers when celebrities pass on.
I know I should stop, but I just can’t. I adore the feeling of being lost. I adore the feeling of falling out on downers and depressants….half passing out for a few minutes, yet forcing myself to stay awake. (more…)

Motionless in Spirituality

I’ve had a certain book in my possession for quite some time now. It’s called Memoirs of a Spiritual Outsider. It’s a non-fictional narrative about a young woman’s story of trying to find spirituality, a God to pray to, a faith to hold, etc… It’s a collection of her stories exploring different religions to find one in which she fits into, and the one that feels right to her. In all honesty, I have not finished this book, but from what I did read, I was able to familiarize myself with her situation.

Illusions(Book Suggestion & Poem)

20140305-223752.jpg

I had found this book from a posting online suggesting it. I am not typically a fiction or novel type reader, but this is worth a read. Just as well, there is treasure to be found just within the first three pages of the book as you can see in the image above. It’s a small chunk taken from Ralph Waldo Emerson’s poem, “Illusions.” So short and sweet blog for this evening 😉

The Wise Words of Mr. Frost

“Trees give peace to the souls of men who walk among them.” -Robert Frost

Go explore! Walk amongst the forest trees. You’re a metaphorical sponge. Absorb the sounds of silence, the whispering wind through the leaves, the musically inclined birds. Even as an adult..build forts, have fun, and be at peace. Be with nature for it is a medicine that can heal like no other.
Stay peaceful my friends,

The Ocean’s Tide

I wish well in the journeys in front of you
I wish I could soak up the pain from the bad journeys that fell behind you
But for your journeys ahead, we now do share
I couldn’t be happier at a finding so rare
We’ll be tossed too and fro like an oceans tide
But I’m here for a reason. I’m here to be by your side
In sickness and health the wedding vowels say
No need for a wedding to honor those vowels every day
You are a work of art in human form
You’re also the love at night that will keep me warm
I consider myself to be one lucky guy
To have you next to me; this dream has to be a lie
It is a sight I sought for once before
Thank you love, for coming to my door
If it wasn’t for you this would’ve never begun
But now it’s a beautiful thing; like a loom being spun
You watch it take place and you watch the blanket grow
That’s how our I lives could be; forever and beyond.
following the path ahead through which has been sewn. Together, we can take each day abd carry on

103 People Unfriended Her, How Many Would Do the Same to Me

Moving yet very sad story and the author’s beautiful take on the situation.

Blog Woman!!! - Life Uncategorized

I came across a Huffington post about a woman who posted pictures of herself on her Facebook wall that caused a collapse in her social circle.  The headline said “When Beth Posted These Images on Facebook, 103 People Unfriended Her”.

The headline effectively grabbed my attention, but what the story really did was zero in on the heart of one of my own deepest fears.  It cut to a deep vulnerability that even I don’t fully understand, but it’s one that has held me back from engaging as fully in life as I possibly could.  I can’t do that until I can somehow get to a place of true peace about it.

Canvas ScarsThe pictures that Beth Whaanga, the woman in the Huffington piece, posted were semi-nude images of herself featuring her scars from a double mastectomy and a hysterectomy.  They were taken by a photographer leading a project called,
